It's summertime! The sun is out, it's warm, and practically every day is a great day to be outside. but there are a few things you should remember. According to the CDC, skin cancer is the most common cancer in the US. In 2015, over 80,000 new cases of Melanomas of the skin were reported, and almost 9,000 people died from it in the US. Most of that damage happens when your skin burns. But, the CDC does have some suggestions to prevent them from happening.
The sun’s UV rays are the strongest at midday. So if you’re relaxing outside, use a tree, umbrella or tent to keep out of the sun.
Put it on before you walk out the door every time. Make sure you’re putting it on your children and teaching them the importance of it as well. Broad spectrum is the best to use.
