“Corteo” is an Italian word that means “procession.” As the name implies, the audience will watch a procession of a contemporary circus as a clown watches his own funeral. This show originally ran from 2005 to 2015 in a “grand chapiteau” or circus tent. Now it returns for arena shows. Check out more and purchase tickets here. Don’t miss the bed-bouncing, chandelier-swinging action as Corteo comes to Memphis! Check out some behind the scenes action from our friends at Knoxville Weekend.

Cirque du Soleil is an entertainment company from Montreal. They are famous world-wide for their circuses featuring only human performers. The only 2 shows that use animals are Zumanity (snakes) and Chris Angel: Believe (doves). Performances have been done on every continent except Antarctica. It started in 1980 and since then, millions have witnessed incredible costuming, stunning music, and breathtaking acts. In addition to the touring shows, several permanent performances are still active around the world, most notably the 6 shows in Las Vegas.
