Scholastic offers free daily courses for kids, while schools close during Coronavirus outbreak

COVID-19, Coronavirus, has affected our every day life routines in more ways than one. Due to the rapid spread, Gov. John Bel Edwards closed Louisiana public schools until April 14.

The Archdiocese of New Orleans followed behind with the same decision.

While kids are out of school for the next month, educational company Scholastic wants to help keep kids busy.

The ‘Learn From Home’ website is broken into four categories: PreK and Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2, Grades 3-5, and Grades 6 and up. Each section is already equipped with one week of content for students with 15 additional days on the way.

Each day of content is filled with exciting articles and stories, videos, and fun learning challenges. The students can even go on virtual field trips or meet best-selling authors.

The website provides up to three hours’ worth of content each day and can be completed on any device.

Some parents do not have the luxury of working from home while their kids are out but this program aims to offer a little relief in these trying times.
