This Southern classic is an essential in any baker’s repertoire. Watch the video for an easy demonstration on making the perfect chocolate chess pie.
- 1 stick of butter, melted
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 ½ tablespoons cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ¼ cup dark cocoa powder
- 1 unbaked pie crust
Preheat oven to 325°F. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour filling into unbaked pie crust. Bake for 1 hour.
Yields: 8 slices.
