This Chocolate Chess Pie recipe is a staple for a Southern Baker

What's a holiday without chocolate chess pie? Watch this to see how we do it.

This Southern classic is an essential in any baker’s repertoire.  Watch the video for an easy demonstration on making the perfect chocolate chess pie.


  • 1 stick of butter, melted
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 ½ tablespoons cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ¼ cup dark cocoa powder
  • 1 unbaked pie crust

Preheat oven to 325°F. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour filling into unbaked pie crust. Bake for 1 hour.

Yields: 8 slices.
