Mom deserves the best everyday of the year, but even more so on Mother’s Day.
Even if your mom is the type to say, “I don’t want anything, dear,” you better not let Mother’s Day roll around and you’re empty handed. She’ll always appreciate a little something-something, even if she didn’t ask for it. Moms are funny that way.
You can delight her with a gift from the ultimate Memphis Mother’s Day Gift Guide we’ve put together.
Ol’ Mom Learns New Tricks
Board and Brush Memphis: If your mom loves crafting, she may enjoy putting brush to wood to create a DIY sign. The Board + Brush workshop is a great way to scratch that DIY itch without having to buy all the supplies, or worry about clean up!
Seize the Clay Class: Live you’re best Ghost life with a pottery wheel lesson at Memphis’ only paint-your-own studio. To get the full nostalgic effect of that iconic moment in Ghost, make sure you play the Righteous Brother’s, Unchained Melody.
The Goods: Any Memphis Stellas ready to get their groove back? Learn how to groove and move in heels from Trinica Goods, a professional NBA dancer for the Grizzlies.
Mother’s Day Paddle: (May 12 from 1-4:30 pm) Enjoy a non-conventional Mother’s Day with a paddle down the Wolf River. River guides will accompany a group of moms and mom enthusiasts on a pleasant 3.5 mile paddle, FOR FREE! Register early to make sure you get a spot.
Mini Metalsmiths: (May 8 from 3:45-4:45 pm) This activity is great for moms with little ones and grannies spending time with their grand babies! Students will forge their own clay roses while learning elementary forging techniques! Specialty hammers, designed by the education department and created by the Metal Museum Foundry, will be provided for this one-hour workshop.
Sweet Gifts that Give Back
Thistle and Bee: Everyone loves granola and honey, but the products from Thistle+Bee have an added sprinkle of sweetness because of their business’s mission to help Memphis sex-trafficking survivors.
My Cup of Tea: This small business, located in Orange Mound, packages and distributes an array of flavored teas with the mission of transforming the lives of women in the Orange Mound area.
If you’re looking for other ways to give back AND honor mom, you can donate to Memphis’ non-profits like St. Jude, Porter-Leath, Bridges, Soulsville Foundation and Streets Minitries–just to name a few!
Brunch, Brunch, Brunch
