America’s #1 Fudge has been made in Memphis since 1902

You don't have to worry about falling into a river of chocolate on this tour of Dinstuhl's Fine Candy Company!

You don’t need a Golden Ticket to tour the candy factory that makes America’s #1 Fudge, and you won’t have to worry about falling into a river of chocolate.  However, you will have to restrain yourself from wanting to take all of the chocolate you can handle home with you if you ever get a chance to visit Dinstuhl’s Fine Candy Company in Memphis.  Dinstuhl’s has four locations in Memphis, but they set down their roots in the Bluff City all the way back in 1902.  Since then, they have been cranking out some of the most delicious candies and sweets you’ll ever taste in your life.

More on Dinstuhl’s Fine Candy Company

Dinstuhl’s in Memphis makes more than 200 kinds of candy by hand in their Candy Kitchen, and if you can have patience enough not to eat an entire chocolate lollipop the second it’s unwrapped — which is a very tough feat — you’ll notice the detail in the shape of the chocolate, and even the colorful candy-painted details, that are all done by hand.  Because they’ve been doing it for more than 100 years, they’ve pretty much got this chocolate-making thing down to a science, but they also know that not everyone’s sweet tooth is satisfied by chocolate.  While they also have tons of white chocolate candy, they also make tons of other candies that you can’t miss out on trying, like their Cashew Crunch.  It’s basically very similar to peanut brittle, but it’s coated with a sort of coconut dust or powder that makes it down-right addicting.

America’s #1 Fudge – Dinstuhl’s Chocolate Pecan Fudge

In 2013, Dinstuhl’s Chocolate Pecan Fudge was voted the #1 Fudge in America in Cooking with Paula Deen Magazine. If you ever get to try any of it, you’ll know why!  While their recipe is a secret, it’s made with 100% cocoa, and it’s still the same recipe that Charles Martin Dinstuhl, Sr. came up with when he started the company back in 1902.  It’s based on the original recipe for milk chocolate created in Switzerland in the late 1800’s, and not only has the recipe not changed, but they are still using some of the same equipment that they were using way back in the day!
