If you’re like me and have been guilty of buying lemons in bulk and you don’t use them before they go bad. I am going to help you out with that because there is a simple hack.
All you have to do is make sure you freeze it in a Pyrex dish. And then when you’re ready to use it, run it under cold water, and you can even drop a section in your tea. Now if you have a lot of peels, and this works for oranges as well.
You scrape off the fibers until the thin peel remains. Then boil for 30 seconds and drain. In the saucepan make sure you add water and sugar and you want to stir it until the sugar is dissolved, then you can add the peels and bring it to a boil.
Make sure you reduce the heat to a simmer for about 90 minutes, stirring occasionally. After that, let the peels cool and then cover them in sugar.
One additional thing, let them dry for about 2 hours, and then they’re ready to eat! Enjoy your lemon candy!
