Dr. Manspeaker from the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County gives us a some tips to remember for our pets in these cold winter months!
It’s really a good idea to make sure that you pay attention to the weather forecast and the temperatures outside. Their water bowl can freeze, if they’re fed, food can freeze too.
They need to have access to shelter, at all times so they can decide whether they’re getting to cold out in the yard.
They should have a proper enclosure. Certain pets might actually get colder even when the temperature inside is comfortable for us. So we have to pay attention to how they’re acting.
If anybody has pets that are that they’re worried about whether they’re their own pets that are outdoors or they’re seeing little animals outside, maybe stray animals or they’re not sure where they live, they can always call the Humane Society or one of the other local shelters or animal welfare organizations because there’s a lot of people, a lot of organizations in this area that can help with that.
